Allison Brooks Janney, an American actress was born in the year 1959. Throughout her career of more than three decades, Allison Brooks Janney has received recognition in both film and stage appearances. Janney has been the recipient of numerous awards. They include an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award as well as several others. 7 Primetime Emmy Awards were also presented to her. There were also nominations to win the two Tony Awards. Janney was originally from Boston but was brought up close to Dayton in Ohio. She graduated from Kenyon College graduation earned her a scholarship for The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Janney was first seen on television in 1999 playing C. J. Cregg, a role she played in NBC's drama series The West Wing (1999 to 2006.) in which she was awarded Four Primetime Emmy Awards. As a result of her performance in her role in the Showtime series Masters of Sex, Margaret Scully, Janney won the Primetime Emmy Award 2014 for Outstanding Guest Actress In the Drama Series.
